Do I need a fishing license for the charter?

No, you don’t need a fishing license! Your charter includes all necessary licenses (at no extra cost), so you can focus on enjoying your fishing trip.

Is the trip suitable for kids or beginners?

Absolutely! My trips are family-friendly and perfect for everyone from beginners to very experienced saltwater anglers. Captain Harvey will guide you every step of the way, making it fun and educational for everyone. Also, if you're interested in a fishing trip specifically tailored to your children, Captain Harvey does offer 2 Hour Kids Fishing Charters in Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, and Sunset Beach.

What types of fish can I expect to catch?

On Inshore Fishing Charters, we'll fish for Redfish, Trout, Flounder, and Black Drum. We may also catch a host of other inshore species. On Nearshore Fishing Charters you can expect to catch King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Seabass, and many other species. On Shark Fishing Charters you can expect to catch Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks, Black Tip Sharks, Sandbar Sharks, Hammerheads, and many other shark species.

What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Safety is my priority. If the weather isn't suitable or safe, I'll work with you to reschedule or refund your trip. Weather decisions will be made at the time of your trip. Our weather on the NC coast changes so much that I don't make weather cancellations futher in advance (except for hurricanes, etc...)

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel and receive a full refund up to 3 days before your trip. Once you're inside of 3 days, the trip can be rescheduled, but not refunded.

Can I book a charter if I’m staying in Holden Beach or Sunset Beach?

Yes. I carry out guests vacationing in Holden Beach and Sunset Beach on a daily basis, and those locations give us immediate access to some of the same creeks, inlets, and near-coastal waters I run trips in every day.

I can even pick you in at a Holden Beach or Sunset Beach dock nearby to where you're vacationing, which we can discuss and work out after you've booked your charter.
